Overall Appearance: Seamus wears the basic Hogwarts uniform, though it usually looks scruffy and untidy, making him seem like a slob. His ears are slightly large in comparison to the rest of his features and he has a strong irish accent, making people aware of his irish roots.
Personality: Seamus is pretty easy-going and good-natured during his years at Hogwarts. He is also quite clumsy, but has a talent in pyrotechnics, which first became obvious when he made his feather explode in his charms class, and again in the Great Hall when he attempted to change his water into rum. Seamus is very curious, and isn't afraid to ask his professors anything that he wishes to know as he has asked Quirrel where he got his turban from, and Professor Snape about the Inferi.

Weaknesses: Trust. Seamus didn't believe Harry's claims about Voldemort returning mainly because his mother chose to believe the Daily Prophet rather than his friends.
History: Seamus was born somewhere in Ireland and lives with his mother and his father. We learned that Seamus is a halfblood, as he is 'half n half', with his dad being a muggle and his mother a witch. Seamus attended Hogwarts in the same year as Ron, Harry and Hermione, as well as Draco, Dean and Neville.
During Charms class on Hallowe'en morning, Seamus was partnered with Harry to practise the Levitation Charm. While practising, Seamus managed to set fire to their feather with his wand, and Harry had to put it out with his hat. Seamus would have many such experiences throughout his school career.
Over the summer of 1994, Seamus and his mother, along with Dean, attended the Quidditch World Cup between Bulgaria and Ireland. Being Irish, the pair obviously supported the latter; their tent was covered with shamrocks. When Seamus ran into Harry, Ron, and Hermione, they assured him that they would be supporting Ireland, as well. Presumably Seamus was delighted when the Irish National Quidditch team won. When Harry's name mysteriously came out of the Goblet of Fire, Seamus was among the students who believed Harry had tricked the Goblet into letting him compete. On Christmas Day, Seamus attended the Yule Ball with Lavender Brown, whom he dated for a little while before she got with Ron in their sixth year.
Seamus chose to believe the Daily Prophet and his mother over his own friends, causing a divide between the boys. But Seamus eventually chose his loyalties and stayed at Hogwarts with Harry, rather than returning home to see his mother.

He also tried out for the Quidditch Team when Katie Bell was in the Hospital Wing after being cursed by the necklace. He didn't agree with Harry's choice to replace Katie with Dean, but Dean had performed better than him.
