Name:Stanley "Stan" Shunpike
Date of Birth: (Made up for the sake of this roleplay.) January 20th, 1973.
Age: 24
Occupation: Former conductor of the Knight Bus, currently a Death Eater (Under Imperius Curse)
Appearance-
Height: 5'10
Hair: Brown, a bit scruffy, probably hasn't been washed much lately. Not sure if Death Eaters get breaks for showers.
Eyes: Blue, likely looking like he hasn't slept in Merlin knows when. Though a sure way to tell if someone's Imperiused is the eyes, which appear blank when under the curse.
Overall Appearance: When Harry first meets him in 1993 he is described as looking "eighteen or nineteen at the most" though now in his early twenties it's awfully easy to spot he's spent some time in the hellhole that is Azkaban prison. It wasn't long, but it's left its mark. He has pale and pimply skin, scruffy brown hair, and large protruding ears. While working at the Knight Bus he wore a purple uniform and matching conductor's cap, but alas such luxuries were thrown aside and he's stuck with normal people, albeit a bit roughed up, clothes. If he had room to complain about that he surely would.
Personality: Stan Shunpike, while working on the bus, was no stranger to striking up conversation with the passengers. Rather fond of whatever gossip was buzzing around the wizarding world, and often making a bit of a snide comment or two relating to such things. A bit of a braggart, Stan claimed he'd be the world's youngest Minister of Magic some day. Hell, his tendency to stretch the truth was what got him thrown into prison in the first place. On top of this, Stan Shunpike was never exactly the greatest employee, but he did his job well enough. Stan speaks his mind, sometimes his inability to hold his tongue comes back to bite him. He seems to lack the understanding that nowadays a slip of the tongue could cost him his life. Additionally, thanks to his years of service on the Knight Bus, he'd become accustomed to a fast paced lifestyle. Almost literally. While the job wasn't perfect, he'd probably anything to get back. Anything beats being a Death Eater.
Likes: When leading a simpler life, he'd often spend the late shift with that day's issue of the Daily Prophet and a nice cup of slightly room temperature hot chocolate. Not out of preference, he just didn't feel like heating it up. So you could say he likes the finer things in life, quite obviously. He likes attention as well, making himself look impressive, even if it has led to certain consequences.
Dislikes:First and foremost, what he remembers of being a Death Eater sucks infinitely. Then again, he also dislike occasionally being nearly beheaded by someone's luggage going at an ungodly speed late late at night. So there's that too. And while we're at it Azkaban was a nightmare as well. Go figure.
Strengths: He's got confidence, you can give him that. He knows how to do his job, even if he doesn't. He knows his way around the rougher parts of the wizarding world, and is exceptionally good at keeping balance at unfathomably high speeds, and can dodge luggage left and right with ease.
Weaknesses: Never quite knows how to hold his tongue, and has a tendency to brag and lie his way into approval. He's not the most skilled wizard either, his wand never quite agreeing with him. Never really participated back at good ol' Hogwarts, so he isn't exactly the brightest tool in the shed.
History: (Copied from the wiki, as I was told that was allowed. I'll put my additions in parenthesis.) Stanley was born around 1973,[1] and presumably grew up in London, as he had a strong Cockney accent. It is unknown if he ever attended Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. (Though we'll assume he did.)
Stan, despite doing his job well, lacked high intelligence and as such did not recognise Harry Potter who had just fled from 4 Privet Drive and instead believed his alias of Neville Longbottom. But then again it might have simply been that he did not get time to properly examine Harry's scar, as Harry hid it immediately after Stan showed interest, which would have likely confirmed Harry's true identity. When talking to Harry and others on the Knight Bus he showed his love of gossip and of having inside information, a trait that later landed him in Azkaban. He was shocked when Harry nonchalantly spoke the name "Voldemort", and even when later meeting up with Cornelius Fudge, who confirmed Harry's true identity, Stan continued to refer Harry as "Neville" for the rest of that trip.
Stan attended the 1994 Quidditch World Cup, and after the match, Stan and several others were witnessed by Harry and Ron Weasley trying to chat up a group of Veela, with Stan making the outrageous comment of him "about to be made the youngest Minister for Magic ever", in an effort to impress them.
Stan met Harry once again when he, along with Ron and his siblings were being transported by the Knight Bus back to Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. Stan, this time, realised who Harry was, though made the mistake of blurting out his name to his friend, the driver, Ernie Prang. Harry's primary bodyguard; the expertly-disguised Auror Nymphadora Tonks, threatened to "curse Stan into oblivion" if he did it again, as they were concerned for Harry's security.
Stan, true to his vain nature, tried to impress his friends at a local pub by making the statement that he had inside knowledge of the Death Eaters' plans. The Ministry of Magic, now led by Rufus Scrimgeour, found out and raided his home in Clapham, taking him into custody on suspicion of Death Eater activity. Stan was then sent to Azkaban prison. Stan continued his incarceration throughout 1996, and was one of the reasons that Harry refused to cooperate with Scrimgeour, or serve as the Ministry's "poster child", as Harry refused to believe that Stan could be a Death Eater. Indeed, the interrogation with Stan has revealed that he has absolutely no link with the Death Eaters, but the Ministry kept him in order to put up a façade of progress.
In 1997, Azkaban experienced yet another breakout, but Stan was freed and joined the Death Eaters' ranks (under the Imperius Curse).
That's his story thus far.
