Overall Appearance: Madam Pomfrey is of average height, with kind blue eyes, that many Hogwarts students hold dear. However, when she is enraged or protective, they turn to a steel gaze which few can escape from. She appears old and weak, but her fingers have been proven many times capable of a steel grip. She wears a long red, velvet robe, with an apron to cover. Her hair is held in a sensible bun, and kept out of her face by an old-fashioned nurse’s cap. Her wand is hidden up her sleeve, so it can be summoned at any time to aid her students.
Personality: Madam Pomfrey values the safety of her students above all, and is extremely protective of them, even when they do not necessarily agree with her prescribed care. She will fight anyone to defend her students, whom she values like her own children. Despite this, she is extremely kind (tempered with a smattering of discipline, of course). She can be pedantic about the state of cleanliness in her hospital wing, liking to organise everything and keep it organised. She never asks about the source of her patient’s injury, knowing that it drive vulnerable students away, unless she believes there is a genuine cause for concern.
Likes: Poppy likes it when her patients are obedient, although she has grown resigned to the fact that it is not common. She also likes the colour red, despite the blood she regularly encounters in her job.
Dislikes: Poppy dislikes unwanted visitors, especially when they cause stress for her patients. She hates chaos in her hospital wing, preferring to keep everything orderly. Poppy dislikes Albus Dumbledore’s crazy schemes, and the danger he brings to the school with them. Like dementors. She also hates pink.

History: Poppy Pomfrey was born a half-blood to a witch and a muggle father. She grew up in a small muggle village, and was a very curious child. She received her letter to Hogwarts and attended, excelling in Transfigurations and Charms. She spent holidays with her parents, visiting distant relatives and friends in France, leading to Poppy’s excellent fluency in French. When she was 15, her father’s health began to deteriorate, and he was diagnosed with cancer. Poppy was desperate, and scoured every book in the library for a magical cure, but to no avail. When he finally died, after a year of suffering, Poppy was distraught. She promised herself that she would study to be a Healer and help people.
When she became a Healer, after shooting through the training and becoming top of her course, she was quickly snapped up as Hogwarts Matron. She tended many students over the years, but faced a new challenge when she had to look after Remus Lupin throughout his Hogwarts career; sneaking him out of the school, and tending to his wounds after the full moon.
She looked after the Hogwarts students, including the Golden Trio, healing the many bumps and bruises from their adventures. She considered resigning in protest to Delores Umbridge’s reign of power, but decided that her students needed her. She ended up healing the DA at the end of the year, after the Battle at the Ministry.
Pomfrey tended to the wounds gained in the Battle of the Astronomy Tower, and attended the funeral of her dear friend, Albus Dumbledore.
