Name: Reina Shafiq
Date of Birth: April 15th, 1977
Age: Twenty years old
Occupation: Unspeakable
Appearance-
Height: 5’9
Hair: Long, Dark, and Straight, her hair is something you can tell she takes pride in. It reaches most of the way down her back and is one length, with no apparent style she usually wears it long and loose around her shoulders to show it off to its true effect. Some day's she'll have tiny ribbons in it though, keeping it out of her face.
Eyes: Dark Brown and deep set, with tiny veins visible at the corners.
She has atrocious vision but refuses to admit it or do anything about it, so she usually appears to be looking through you instead of actually making eye contact with you-simply because she can't see where your eyes are.
Overall Appearance: Reina is on the tall side, and usually seen in dark maroon robes that offset her grey-blonde hair. She wears these to most places that would be considered “magical”, such as Diagon Alley, or the Ministry, however tries to blend in when in the muggle world as best she can. She has long legs, which she likes to accentuate with knee socks and heels, and long “monkey arms” as she refers to them, which she tries to downplay. Her face is slightly hollowed, with high cheek bones and sunken eyes, although pretty, it almost appears sallow. She leaves traces of vanilla and salt wherever she goes, from her morning runs on the beach combined with her perfume.
Personality: Reina was always quiet at school but not because she was shy, she merely didn’t have any use for the people there. She enjoys doing such things as sitting in her room with her pet, a tabby cat named Lord Biggletooth, perusing the Wizengamot records (a habit she picked up as a girl with her father) on her breaks, and shopping at muggle markets. She lives alone in a small cottage in Tinworth, near Cornwall, but grew up in a large house in Wiltshire, near the Malfoy’s. She grew up babysitting Draco, as their parents were close friends, often watching him as their parents hosted pureblood-only dinners. Her patronus is a mink, something she likes to acknowledge by wearing fake mink coats frequently. Fake, because one of her few passions in life is animal rights, something known and disliked by her mother. Reina has been known to be unstable, and is most likely suffering from an undiagnosed mental illness, probably due to the long history of inbreeding to keep the family bloodline pure. She will never acknowledge, nor seek help for this, however, and merely lives a life of being alone and mildly unstable.
Likes: Reina is a big fan of being alone. She enjoys walks on the beach outside her cottage, and playing with her cat. Her one true passion in life is her job as an unspeakable, which occupies the majority of her time and thought. She also has a penchant for the magazine Witch Weekly, though she would never admit it.
Dislikes: Reina takes after her parents, judging people strongly based on their lineage, and thus looks down upon half-bloods and muggle-borns. Being strictly mannered, however, she would never go so far as to refer to someone as a mudblood, or to publicly discriminate within her relationships.
Strengths: Drawing strength from her solitude, Reina is entirely self sufficient, relying entirely on herself for happiness and self-worth. She’s also highly gifted with wandless magic, and though it harmed many a childhood nanny when she was young and volatile it’s now worked to her advantage.
Weaknesses: Reina could easily be considered a recluse, and tends to be mildly standoffish. She looks down on others as beneath her, both because of her family background, and her job at the ministry. Her life lacks meaningful relationships, she’s had brief flings with boys at Beauxbatons, but stayed detached from them, both because she found them beneath her, and to appease her bloodline-obsessed parents.
History: Reina was born to pureblood parents, from a long line of purebloods. The Shafiq’s take pride in being one of the so called “Sacred Twenty Eight,” families whom the author of the Pure-Blood Directory still considered pure by the 1930s. Her father, through slightly questionable means, made his fortune in both the wizard and muggle world, so she was raised primarily by nannies whom she would torment with her magic at a young age. Her father was a fourth generation member of the Wizengamot, and her mother worked for the Department of International Magical Cooperation. She was thus expected to go work at the ministry, especially after her older sister, Emilia, married a muggle named Baxley Cotter, and went to work at his bed and breakfast in Ireland, thus becoming the black sheep of the family. Reina hasn’t spoken to her since she was 14, though Emilia has tried to write her letters they were all intercepted by her father and promptly burned. She went to Beauxbatons, and after showing strong academic promise was recommended for work at the ministry. This, coupled with her father’s respected position, easily secured her a job, by her request as an intern in the department of mysteries. She had grown up coming to work with her mom, and had been intrigued by the forbidden level nine, which her mother banned her from ever visiting. She had managed to peep at it through the elevator grates, however, and wanted to enter ever since. Reina quickly advanced from intern to full-blown unspeakable, though, quite obviously, she can’t really talk about it.
