Overall Appearance: Alecto Carrow has a stocky build and a wheezy giggle, much like her brother, Amycus. She has sloping shoulders and a straight back. She also is branded with the Dark Mark on her forearm. She is usually dressed in typical Pure-blood attire that is either black, grey or dark green.
Personality: Alecto was a sadistic woman who enjoyed punishing and torturing students, and did not hesitate to make a deep slash on Neville Longbottom's face when he insulted her. Alecto had strong pro-wizard beliefs, as she taught that Muggles were filthy, like animals. Apparently she was not very bright, as she needed Filius Flitwick to let her into Ravenclaw Tower. She was however somewhat more intelligent than her brother Amycus. Alecto also seemed to enjoy making fun of others, as she giggled at Albus Dumbledore during his last moments and called Harry Potter "witless" when he and Luna Lovegood fell for Lord Voldemort's trap. This also demonstrates her arrogance, since if she had stood quietly at Ravenclaw Tower, she could have Stunned an oblivious Harry and summoned Voldemort, thus preventing the Battle of Hogwarts and making the Death Eaters win the Second Wizarding War.

History: Alecto and her brother, Amycus supported Voldemort during the First Wizarding War, though they did not go in search of him when he disappeared as they thought he was gone for good. This was how they avoided Azkaban. Despite this, they continued their Death Eater activities once he returned and were always around when anything went on.
Alecto was one of the Death Eaters who was at the Graveyard that Cedric died in, as she had been summoned by her master. She was also in the Astronomy tower when Severus Snape killed Albus Dumbledore.
The Carrow family is a long line of Slytherin Purebloods, much like the Malfoys, who have always had the same views for as long as they can remember. Alecto and her brother were brought up learning these views which is probably why they feel so strongly about them today.
